The Alberta Assessment Consortium (AAC) is a not-for-profit registered society funded by jurisdictional memberships. We are a recognized educational partner in the province of Alberta.  As an independent voice for assessment, we can provide an informed response to questions/issues that impact student learning from multiple perspectives. 

The following objectives guide the work of AAC:

  1. Advocacy for sound classroom assessment practices 

  2. Contribute to the building of assessment literacy in Alberta 

  3. Develop a broad range of classroom assessment materials, directly aligned to the Alberta curriculum, that addresses formative and summative processes

  4. Enhance teacher/leader assessment capacity by providing opportunities for quality professional learning.
