Kate Lawless

University of Lethbridge Graduate
My name is Kate Lawless and I graduated the University of Lethbridge with a B.A. (General Humanities) and B.Ed (Early Childhood Specialization) in December 2020. I am currently a substitute teacher through the Calgary Board of Education. In addition to teaching Grade 1/2 in my final internship, I engaged in a professional inquiry project and researched the way in which Blackfoot values could be used in Early Elementary classrooms in order to teach Indigenous content consistently while also teaching valuable social and emotional skills. This project was very successful and I cannot wait to share it implement it into my future classroom, and share my findings with other educators! To see more about my PIP, you can go to my website, https://blackfootvalues.weebly.com/ or email me at kolawless@cbe.ab.ca.
Thank you for your interest in my project and presentation!
