Ian graduated from the U of A in 2002 and began his teaching career in Red Deer. Since then he has taught math and science in Japan, Mexico, China, Vancouver and Edmonton. He has spent over 10 years teaching AB and IB Physics and Calculus and completed a Masters in Education at UBC in 2010. In addition to teaching Astronomy, Physics and General Science at Jasper Place High School Ian is also researching better ways of teaching and learning science at the University of Alberta. He is currently interested in Scientific Literacy and Argumentation and how teachers can incorporate science programs that benefit from engaging, authentic science activities. When he's not in the classroom he's likely to be found behind a telescope
