The concept of humane education has been around for over 100 years, but what is it exactly and how does it fit in the current classroom?
In this session we will discuss what humane education is, and how it aligns with the Alberta Programs of Study. We will look at the benefits (to both students and animals) of including humane education into teaching and offer ideas and examples of how it can be done, while meeting curricular objectives.
Finally, we will explore the free resources the Alberta SPCA education department has to offer. In this session we will discuss:
- What humane education is (and what it isn't) and how it fits into the current classroom
